TBC professor urges saints to refuse ‘neopronouns’
COOKEVILLE TN ─ Bible professor and vice-president of Tennessee Bible College Kerry Duke gave 10 reasons Aug. 1 why Christians should not cater to the pressures to use gender pronouns.
He began by saying,
First they told us which restrooms to use. Now they’re telling us the words we ought to use. Transgender people say they are offended if you call them he or she, and workplaces and schools are trying to make them happy. They insist on using words like ze, hir, and xem and pressure students and workers to comply. What should Christians do in these situations? Resist. Here is why.
One of his reasons cites verses in Ephesians 5 and Romans 12:
Christians are to reprove the world, not conform to it. “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret” (Eph. 5:11-12). “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom. 12:2). These verses are clear enough.
