BY RON BARTENAN ─ One word that would fittingly define the state of our world is “confusion.”
Among the dictionary definitions of the word “confuse” are these: “to disturb in mind or purpose; blur; to mix indiscriminately; to fail to differentiate from an often similar or related other.”
When there are many voices speaking from multiple ideologies, and given equal status, confusion results. … Possessed by a liberal view of tolerance, Western society increasingly yields, having really already compromised prior Christian principles. The result ─ confusion.
Confusion exists in our world, even within churches that claim to be Christian, as a multitude of voices are allowed to drown out the voice of God. God certainly is “not the author of confusion” as men “depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils” 1Timothy 4.1.
When liberal theology and political correctness drown out the voice of Christ and Scriptures, confusion, chaos and ruin ensnare Satan’s victims. To avoid such, may all heed the middle chapter of the Bible, the shortest chapter of the Bible: Psalm 117:
“Praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise Him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.”
The middle verse of the Bible must be heeded as well, Psalm 118.8: “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”
What has made our country great in years gone by has been the voice of Scripture which ensures the treasures of “liberty and justice for all.”
May we heed the words of Jesus to His disciples: “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free” John 8.32.
