A transformed life is powerful. God can use it for opening hearts.
Last week at the end of our first personal Bible study, Alex asked me, "Why are you spending this time with me to explain the Bible? My answer was brief. I responded God had rescued me. God wants disciples to pass forward his good news and I want to share with others the blessings I have received.
In response Alex explained why he had requested a Bible study. Many years earlier he had witnessed one of his family members accidentally drive a car into Ruby’s parked car. He expected the typical vitriolic outburst.
Instead he witnessed a calm and thoughtful Ruby. Following this neighborhood incident, Alex proceeded to observe Ruby’s lifestyle.
The day came when he decided he wanted what she had. He had learned her life revolved around serving Jesus and being shaped by her Lord’s ways. And so, a second Bible study is scheduled for tomorrow.
God worked through Ruby’s example for his purposes. Her life glistened like a star in a dark expanse. It created a thirst for learning more about God and the good news he offers.
