A part of the fruit of the Spirit is joy, Galatians 5.22. It must be an important part, since it is listed in second place.
What kind of joy is this?
- Joy in the presence of God, Psalm 16.11.
- Joy in purpose and participation, 1 John 1.3-4.
- Joy in suffering, Colossians 1.24.
- Joy in eternity, Revelation 21.4.
Yesterday, I posted an article in Portuguese on these points. The article had non-Christians in mind. More Bible texts were cited than the ones included above. (Read Grok’s translation here.)
The outline above can be adapted to many settings. The subject deserves much attention today.
In a time when so much news is negative, joy holds a special attraction. Teach people how to receive and hold it. Teach others the nature of this joy. Jesus offers it to all.
