āSo they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because His hour had not yet come. Yet many of the people believed in him. They said, āWhen the Christ appears, will he do more signs than this man has done?ā John 7:30-31.
So many struggle to make their minds up about who Jesus is. As this chapter begins, weāre told that His own brothers did not believe in Him.
Jesus then went to the temple and taught truth. So many marveled at His learning and wondered if He was the Messiah, and yet others, having preconceived ideas about the prophesied Savior doubted.
For Jesusā part, He taught truth and trusted in God that nothing would happen to Him that His Father would not allow ⦠and many believed!
Isnāt that what we are called to do? Weāre so afraid that people will be making up their minds up about us that we shrink back from proclaiming the gospel, but in reality it is people making up their minds about Jesus.
Weāre just the messengersāand that saving message is either helped or hindered by the conduct of the messenger. Rather, we should live our lives worthy of the gospel, standing firm on truth but being gentle in our approach that many would believe.
