Below are a few phrases adapted from or inspired by a secular article applied to spiritual realities planted firmly in biblical truth:
- What now shields us may well eventually enslave us.
- Worldly influence corrupts not only morals but identity.
- In the body of Christ our Lord offers us the possibility of cooperation without coercion or compulsion.
- Our communion endures while the truth of the gospel prevails among us. We are tied together as long as we have the doctrine of Christ in common.
- Freedom in Christ anchors our faith and creates agility in service.
- Alliances with those who do not hold to the same gospel betray commitment to Christ and bind us to agendas other than the will and work of God.
- Congregational autonomy, so called, is often and sometimes fairly criticized. It is, however, part of the New Testament model, a feature not a bug.
