What will the pure seed of the Word of God produce?

“… no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” 2 Peter 1:21.

“That’s your interpretation!” someone may assert when confronted with biblical truth that contradicts their opinion. At the heart of that argument is their belief that truth itself is an opinion and therefore on the same par as theirs.

Often, it’s said to cover up a sinful choice the person wants to justify. When they insist that they have come to a different interpretation of the Bible that allows them to persist in sin, they are striving to make God bend to their will instead of submitting to His will. And often very little time has been spent in the Scriptures to come to that conclusion.

One of the first rules of good Bible study is that God’s Word can never mean what it never meant—meaning that because the Word is truth and has all authority that our job is to discover what God’s message to mankind is in its proper contexts. This process is called hermeneutics and defies the idea that there can be other interpretations.

Plant the pure seed of the Word of God and it’ll produce only Christians.
