It’s dishonest

Featured Post Image - It’s dishonest

It’s a magic trick they play, sleight of hand, and they do it quite successfully. The TEXT says: “he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him” Hebrews 5.9 ESV.

Then they switch it up on you, according to their theology, such as this study Bible note:

… he became perfectly qualified in experience to be “the source of eternal salvation” to all believers (v. 9).

This quote was taken from the Gospel Transformation Study Bible, p. 1834 (Crossway, 2018).

See what they did? You probably missed it. The Bible says “who obey him.” The human note was designed to lead you away from obedience to their theology: “to all who believe.”

This happens frequently. It’s dishonest. The SACRED TEXT stands.

Don’t believe man, do not place your trust in man. Read Scripture for what it says, without human theology. You can — and must — do it, because at stake is your eternal salvation.
