Love First, Questions Later

"Go, wash in the pool of Siloam"(John 9:7)

When Jesus healed the blind man in John 9, He did not ask for a confession of faith, and He did not pry into his personal life. He just healed him.

It was quite a bit later (following an uproar that led the formerly blind man to be tossed out of the synagogue, John 9:34) that Jesus caught back up with the man, and asked him if he believed on the Son of God (vv.35-37).

This particular miracle is parabolic of God’s Grace. God did not wait for us to become worthy of His grace; this would be entirely contrary to it. God simply made the offer (John 3:16). He delivered up His Son for us all while we were yet sinners (Rom. 8:32; Rom. 5:6,8).

God does not demand that we earn His love.

He loves us FIRST, and asks us IF WE FIND HIM WORTHY of ours.

Do you?
