You were made in a special way

Read Psalm 139.13-16.
You made all my intricate parts. You formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank You because of the amazing, unique way You made me. What You have done is wonderful! I know this very well. (verses 13-14, IEB).
David the shepherd became king of the people of Israel. He wrote many psalms. He had a special place in God’s plan. Jesus was born as his descendant. The prophets spoke that the Messiah (Anointed One) would sit on the throne of David.
We are not going to be kings like David, but many things he says in this psalm apply to us too.
God knows us even before we are born. He miraculously created Adam and Eve. He creates each of us today too, by natural means. God is directly involved in our lives even before we are born.
You are special. Every human being is special. We can thank God for making us. The life we have is precious. We are each important to God.
Thank you, Almighty God, for giving life to each one of us. Thank you for making me. Help us to treat others with great kindness.
- If God made you, how does that help you think about yourself?
- The psalm talks about how God is great and present in every place. How does it feel to know that God has a huge interest in you?
- What can you do to show interest in God since he shows interest in you?
- To discuss later: Read the entire psalm. What can you discover in it about God?
