When the high priest went into the tabernacle, he wore a special crown attached to his turban,
Then they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving of a signet:
HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
And they tied to it a blue cord, to fasten it above on the turban, as the Lord had commanded Moses (Exodus 39.30–31).
Ezekiel 9.4; Revelation 7.3–4; 14.1; 22.4 all refer to the servants of God having a mark, or God’s name, on their foreheads, which all seem to harken back to this passage in Exodus 39. When the Lord looks upon His people, He sees, “Holiness to the Lord,” and it is because our High Priest, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, has entered into the Holy of Holies in heaven, making holiness possible for us, even as Aaron did for the children of Israel.
