Sometimes the teachings of the Bible unite people and sometimes the teachings of the Bible divide people. Yet, it is not so much the teachings of the Bible that unites or divides, rather people reacting to the Bible agreeing or disagreeing with it, and the ones disagreeing generally oppose the believers.
It happened in Iconium,
“But the multitude of the city was divided: part sided with the Jews, and part with the apostles” (Acts 14:4).
It bothers believers that such happens, nevertheless, we cannot do much about it. We can simply live holy lives and hope that those who oppose Christianity initially will change their minds and listen to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Acts 14:4 pictures western culture at the present. In the past, the different churches disagreed with one another, but they were united in belief in the existence of God, creation, the Bible, Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and other things.
However, much of our society has turned against those things and so countries have divided: part side with the secularists and part with the churches.
What will you do about it?
