It would have been both exciting and humbling to have been Mary, the mother of Jesus, and know that you alone fulfilled prophecy.
Judas also fulfilled prophecy, but not for a happy reason. After he returned the money that he received for betraying Jesus to His enemies, the chief priests took the silver coins and would not put them into the treasury, but,
…they consulted together and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
“And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced, and gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me” (Matthew 27:7–10).
How sad to know that you fulfilled such a passage, and now Judas must live with that for the rest of eternity!
