As I read Leviticus 13, and how the Lord told the priests to diagnose whether someone or something had leprosy, it made me grateful that, with the Lord’s help, we have contained this awful disease, and hopefully someday we will rid the earth of it.
What got me to thinking about this was how easily it seems leprosy invaded people’s lives back then,
“Or if the body receives a burn on its skin by fire, and the raw flesh of the burn becomes a bright spot, reddish-white or white, then the priest shall examine it; and indeed if the hair of the bright spot has turned white, and it appears deeper than the skin, it is leprosy broken out in the burn…” (Lev 13:24–28).
Leprosy would use a burn to attack someone’s body. Have you ever been burned? Only God knows how often I have burned myself, yet, not once have I worried about getting leprosy from it!
Praise God that He keeps making life better on this earth as we learn more about life on earth and how to deal with it.
