Just before the Lord ordered two angels to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, He said to those angels,
“Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?” (Genesis 18:17–18).
Through Abraham, the Lord would provide the greatest of all blessings to anyone from any nation (later revealed in the New Testament), yet, the Lord was about to destroy several cities, and asked whether Abraham should see what was about to happen.
The Lord wants to bless, but sometimes He has to destroy, and it is not a pleasant thing to Him, and He knows that someone such as Abraham thinks as the Lord does, which the context truly shows.
Do you think and feel as the Lord does?
