The Lord reveals to show that He did not reveal all!

The Lord had some things to reveal to the church, and so He wanted John to write down the things that he saw and heard, but not everything,

“Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, ‘Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them’” (Revelation 10:4).

The Lord wanted us to know or to see what was going on behind the scenes, but we do not need to know everything, and thus John heard what the seven thunders said, but the Lord prohibited him from writing those things down.

If the Lord had not done this, we might think that He had revealed everything, but He wants us to know that it is His glory to conceal a matter (Proverbs 25:2), and what He has revealed, He has revealed enough that we can do what He says (Deuteronomy 29:29).
