Why Jesus was manifested

Why did the Father send Jesus to the Earth to live and to die? John said,

“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).

The devil reigns in the hearts of sinners, but when they believe in Jesus, and turn to Him in full repentance and obedience, Jesus thus destroys the works of the devil, because at the cross Jesus received what sinners deserve for their sin.

Praise God that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, otherwise, what would our lives be like?

    1 Peter 5:10

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace,
who called you to His eternal glory in Christ,
will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

God of grace, Man of Sorrows,
Came to earth from heaven above.
    Brought to us our salvation,
Brought to us His redeeming love.

Why did He come down from heaven?
To save a sinner like me?
Why did He choose to suffer
    On dark Calvary?

    He’s the ……
God of grace, Man of Sorrows,
Came to earth from heaven above,
Bought us with His matchless treasure.
Purchased us with His own blood.
