One thousand nine hundred seventy-two years ago, Jesus ascended into heaven, leaving behind the promise that He shall return to retrieve those who belong to Him. Yet, in another 28 years from this writing, it will have been two thousand years since He left. Has The Lord forgotten us? Has He become slack concerning His promise? No, He has not forgotten us, and no, He has not become slack, but as Peter explained,
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
The Lord does not want to leave one person behind, but He will hold up heaven and earth until the last person has been saved!
