How God’s word affected a prophet

Jeremiah knew that when God spoke, it was the truth, and that when He said something would happen, it would happen.
Therefore, when the Lord God revealed something in particular to the prophet it affected him deeply, even causing his body to react,

My heart within me is broken
Because of the prophets;
All my bones shake.
I am like a drunken man,
And like a man whom wine has overcome,
Because of the Lord,
And because of His holy words.
For the land is full of adulterers;
For because of a curse the land mourns.
The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up.
Their course of life is evil,
And their might is not right.
(Jeremiah 23:9-10)

Truly, as the group Ocean sang, “Every time I look into the Holy Book I wanna tremble.” Every time Jeremiah heard from the Holy God, it caused a reaction in the man.

Read thoughtfully, my friends, believing every word you read in the Holy Book, and see what it does to you.

  1. Its true the word of GOD has agreat impact to the life of any belivers because that is where we came from

    1. Stephen,

      I like the connection you make between the word of God, and the fact that God created us by the power of His word. Therefore, it only makes sense that His word would have incalculable influence upon us.
