The revelation of God’s purpose and grace

Paul encouraged Timothy not to be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord and of Paul himself, who preached that testimony and suffered for it.
Do not be ashamed because God has saved us according to His purpose and grace that He has given to us in the Lord Jesus Christ, even before time began,

“but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles” (2 Timothy 1:10-11).

God revealed His purpose and grace in the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ, thereby abolishing death, and showing us that we can have life and immortality by the Good News of Jesus.

The Lord had appointed Paul to go forth, and preach and teach that very message, and, my friends, that did not stop with Paul, but he encouraged Timothy to preach it and to teach it, and the church has to do the same. Let us, therefore, train more men to carry out this awesome work.
