Eating what one has produced
God had punished Israel by allowing their enemies to eat what Israel had produced, but for what would happen in the church later, He promised,
The Lord has sworn by His right hand
And by the arm of His strength:
“Surely I will no longer give your grain
As food for your enemies;
And the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine,
For which you have labored.
But those who have gathered it shall eat it,
And praise the Lord;
Those who have brought it together shall drink it in My holy courts.”
(Isaiah 62.8, 9).
How dreadful to work for something, but someone else enjoys it. How blessed to work for something and to enjoy its fruits.
When we follow the Lord faithfully, He blesses us for what we do, even something as simple as giving someone a cup of cold water (Matthew 10:42).
