Faith, love, and hope

The conversion of the Thessalonians was so magnificent that people from all over heard about it, and told Paul and his friends about it, although he had been involved in it,

“For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come” (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10).

The news about the Thessalonians in particular was this:

How they turned to God from idols
How they served the living and true God
How they waited for God’s Son from heaven

Those things showed and paralleled what Paul mentioned in verse 3:

Their work of faith (turning to God from idols)
Their labor of love (serving the true and living God)
Their patience of hope (waiting for God’s Son from Heaven)
