When the king of Assyrian sent a threatening letter to King Hezekiah, Isaiah showed what the king did,
“And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD. Then Hezekiah prayed to the LORD, saying…” (Isaiah 37:14-15).
Hezekiah knew that the king of Assyria was greater, but he was not greater than Hezekiah’s God!
Therefore, Hezekiah spread out the letter before the Lord, showing Him what the Assyrian king had said, and then Hezekiah made his request.
Sometimes it is good to present something before the Lord, showing Him our concern.
