As Paul spoke of the covering for women in the Corinthian Church, he said,
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man is not from woman, but woman from man. Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man” (1 Corinthians 11:7-9).
Man is the glory of God; woman is the glory of man, because initially woman came from man, and woman was created for the man.
Now, as Paul will say later, man comes from woman, but both come from God. Therefore, we should not despise one another, for each is the gift of God.
