Questions about the sea

Since Job seemed to know everything that God should do, after He asked Job some questions about the earth, God asked Job what he knew about the sea, “Or who shut in the sea with doors, when it burst forth and issued from the womb; when I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band; when I fixed My limit for it, and set bars and doors; when I said,

‘This far you may come, but no farther, and here your proud waves must stop!’” (Job 38:8-11).

If Job would consider who did those things with the mighty sea, something that man cannot control, then surely man cannot control the One who made the sea, or set its boundaries.

Therefore, let us beware of what we say about God, speaking only what the Bible and nature reveal about Him.
