Thomas questioned the Lord, not knowing Jesus’ destination, for He spoke of going away, but that the disciples knew the way. Thomas said that they did not know where Jesus was going, so they could not know the way. Jesus explained that He is the way, and then He said this,
“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him” (John 14:7).
Jesus was going to the Father, and if we know Jesus, then we know the Father and we know the way to the Father. That makes knowing Jesus the top priority in life. Can you think of something that surpasses knowing the Son of God?
