Serve, then be served
When Solomon died, his son Rehoboam became king and he sought the advice of his father’s counselors, who told him,
“If you will be a servant to these people today, and serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever” (1 Kings 12:7).
What a perfect relationship that would have been, serving the people as king and then the people serving him as the king.
May every leader in any organization see that kind of relationship, and create it by serving first, and then watch how the people return the favor.
