Long standing loyalty

One of the sons of David, Adonijah, sought to be king over Israel, and many followed him, except,

“Zadok the priest, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei, Rei, and the mighty men who belonged to David were not with Adonijah” (1 Kings 1:8).

David had been their king for four decades; they were not going to abandon him at the end of his life, but they remained loyal until the end.

Do you have that kind of loyalty to the people who have built up the church and made it strong?
