As the writer of Second Samuel began his list of David’s mighty men, he said this first,
“These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth the Tachmonite, chief among the captains. He was called Adino the Eznite, because he had killed eight hundred men at one time” (2 Samuel 23:8).
What a feat! Israel had enemies, and this man fought eight hundred of them and killed them, distinguishing himself among David’s mighty men.
While we do not do that today against the church’s enemies, yet, we still fight the good fight of the faith.
How are you fighting for the Lord?
