When God’s people turn to Him

The Philistines sought to attack Israel, and Israel acknowledged that they had sinned against the Lord, and so they sought Him for help against the Philistines.
The result was this,

“So the Philistines were subdued, and they did not come anymore into the territory of Israel. And the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel. Then the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron to Gath; and Israel recovered its territory from the hands of the Philistines. Also there was peace between Israel and the Amorites” (1 Samuel 7:13-14).

Currently, the church has grown weak, and atheists, evolutionists, Muslims, and others are taking ground once held by the church. Is it because in most churches it is unusual to hear the word of God? Many churches rely upon psychology now, and various gimmicks.
Is the church throughout the western world suffering as a result?
What would happen if all the churches turned to the Lord and lived by His word?
