Machir and his descendants, the oldest son of Manasseh, received a special portion of land because he was a man of war (Joshua 17:1), but the rest of Manasseh’s sons also received land in Canaan,
“And there was a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families: for the children of Abiezer, the children of Helek, the children of Asriel, the children of Shechem, the children of Hepher, and the children of Shemida; these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph according to their families” (Joshua 17:2).
The only people who did not receive land were those who died in the wilderness because of their sin, but for those who followed the Lord, they received the land that He had promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It truly is that simple. So it is with us, we are blessed now and in eternity, if we trust the Lord that His way is right, and then that trust leads us to follow Him by keeping His instructions for our lives.
