Ironies in the birth of Christ

See ironies in the birth of Christ.

First, that angels, these great heavenly beings, appeared to humble shepherds out in the field on earth, and announced to them the birth of Jesus.
Second, see the irony in their announcement,

“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger” (Luke 2:11-12).

The shepherds would find the baby in a manger. Do you know what a manger is? It is a feeding trough for animals.

Do you know who Jesus is? He is the Lord of heaven and earth. He is the Creator. Therefore, see His great humility that He would allow Himself to become a baby, developing inside the womb of one of His creations, and then allow Himself to be placed in a manger.
