The blessing of Reuben

Before Moses died, he blessed the tribe of Reuben, saying,

“Let Reuben live, and not die, nor let his men be few” (Deuteronomy 33:6).

As long as the tribe obeyed the Lord, He blessed them with what Moses said, but when they failed to remember the Lord, the tribe shrank, and now no Israelite can trace his or her ancestry to Reuben.

That happens to congregations of Christ. As long as they follow the Lord Jesus Christ, they prosper, but when they forsake Him, they diminish.
