Moses reminded Israel of what the Lord had already given them, and what they should do in response, and then what the Lord would do again,
“And when you came to this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out against us to battle, and we conquered them. We took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh. Therefore keep the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do” (Deuteronomy 29:7-9).
The Lord helped Israel conquer their enemies, and for that He gave them the land of their enemies, but then He expected them to keep the words of the covenant between Israel and Himself, and that they would do all that it said.
Moses said that would lead to prosperity. The Lord prospered them. Then He expected obedience. If they obeyed, He would prosper them again.
The New Testament offers the same cycle. God has blessed us in the spirit. He wants us to obey Him. He will bless us more.
