What does not defile us

What we eat does not defile us, as Jesus explained to His disciples,

“So He said to them, ‘Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?’” (Mark 7:18-19).

What we eat enters our stomachs, not our souls. By teaching this, Jesus purified all foods, so that the dietary restrictions of the Law of Moses no longer apply, but what those laws should have been teaching the world is that what we put into ourselves can defile us, that is, what we take into our souls defiles our souls.

Therefore, you can eat the perfect diet, but if you let wickedness into your heart, then you have defiled yourself.
