Sitting down to a torture

Look what the Romans did as they crucified the Son of God,

“Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there” (Matthew 27:36).

They were watching a man being tortured to death, and they just sat there. They crucified three men that day, but the Romans were casual enough about it that they could just sit down and do their job of guarding Jesus, preventing His followers from rescuing Him.

Can people truly be that callous? Yes, and we who know Jesus is, might get used to Him, and become ignorant of who He is, and what happened to Him that day.

Think about Him without ceasing and you shall prevent such a thing from happening.
