Probably everyone who receives these e-mail devotionals has easy access to multiple Bibles, and if we do not like what we have, we can easily get another one in whatever size we want, with whatever cover we want, with or without study notes, references or no references, maps, charts; you name it.
Yet, do we realize the awesome sacrifices that past generations of believers have made for us to be able to have word of God in our language?
Think on this passage for the rest of the day, remembering what some have paid for us to have our Bibles,
“When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held” (Revelation 6:9).
Some people have given their lives. What would you give to have a copy of the Bible?
