That the nations may know

Why do we have to read the Old Testament and know all the stuff written there? Consider this.

When God fought against Israel’s enemies, noticed what He wanted accomplished, as He spoke to His enemies,

“‘You shall fall on the open field; for I have spoken,’ says the Lord GOD. ‘And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the LORD. So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. Surely it is coming, and it shall be done,’ says the Lord GOD. ‘This is the day of which I have spoken’” (Ezekiel 39:5-8).

He wanted Magog to stop fighting Israel, and He wanted Israel to stop profaning His holy name, for then the nations, not just Israel, but the nations of the world would know that Yahweh is the holy God!

Do you know Him as the holy God? What is your view of Him?
