The Lord spoke through Ezekiel to the elders of Israel who had come to him to hear, that after the Lord showed them the right way,
“Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them” (Ezekiel 20:13).
When the Lord does good things for us and then we sin against Him, we anger Him, and rightly so!
Notice that this passage quotes Leviticus 18:5, which Paul also quotes in Galatians 3:12, and that is, if we do what the Lord says, we shall live in His commandments.
He does not lead us into sin, which brings death, but He only seeks to lead us in the paths of righteousness, for that leads to life.
Have you sinned against the Lord after He has done something good for you? Repent now, confess your sin to Him, and seek His forgiveness.
