While Jeremiah survived the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem, that does not mean he did not suffer.
He suffered at the hands of his own brethren, and he suffered what anyone would suffer when your city is attacked by a mighty military machine.
Therefore, the prophet lamented,
“He has been to me a bear lying in wait, like a lion in ambush. He has turned aside my ways and torn me in pieces; He has made me desolate. He has bent His bow and set me up as a target for the arrow” (Lamentations 3:10-12).
If you feel that way, cry out to God, as the prophet did and God will hear you as He heard Jeremiah.
