From honor to dishonor

As Jeremiah lamented the horrors of the Babylonian attack on Jerusalem, he said,

“Jerusalem has sinned gravely, therefore she has become vile. All who honored her despise her because they have seen her nakedness; yes, she sighs and turns away” (Lamentations 1:8).

Sin will do that to a nation, a city, a person. When sin reigns, those who once honored the one who has now become a sinner despise him, for they see what he truly is or has become and it is not pretty.

Therefore, if you find yourself living in sin, repent immediately.
