Why is Jesus our High Priest? The Hebrew writer said,
“So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You.’ As He also says in another place: ‘You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek’” (Hebrews 5:5-6).
God the Father made Jesus the High Priest, but not according to the order of Aaron, rather according to the order of Melchizedek, whose priesthood was not based on the flesh, for God made Melchizedek a priest, and so the Father did the same with Jesus.
Jesus is our High Priest, which means He can intercede for us and save us from our sins, and show us the way into heaven.
Think today on what Jesus means to you.
