False prophets

The Lord told Jeremiah not to pray for the people of Judah, because He was about to consume them through the Babylonians, but then the prophet said,

“Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, the prophets say to them, ‘You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’ And the LORD said to me, ‘The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart’” (Jeremiah 14:13-14).

Interestingly, I am writing this on October 22, 2011, the day after Mr. Harold Camping said everything would end and there would be the final Judgment, since it did not happen on May 21 of this year.

Again, the Lord has demonstrated that Harold Camping is a false prophet. Do not listen to him or anyone who tells you that he knows the date of the return of Christ, for Christ has said that one can know the day or hour, and Paul said we cannot know the times or the seasons (Matthew 24:36; 1 Thessalonians 5:1, 2).

When will people learn that we cannot predict the date or even the general time, and when will people quit listening to these false prophets and realize, as the Lord told Jeremiah, that these prophets the Lord did not send, and they speak false visions, false divinations, their words are worthless, and they speak from the deceit of their hearts?
