Isaiah 24:1-13 speaks of the Lord’s judgment on the earth, and once that judgment happened, there who survived, rejoiced,
“They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing; for the majesty of the LORD they shall cry aloud from the sea. Therefore glorify the LORD in the dawning light, the name of the LORD God of Israel in the coastlands of the sea” (Isaiah 24:14-15).
Isaiah continued to hear rejoicing, but then he noticed something,
“From the ends of the earth we have heard songs: ‘Glory to the righteous!’ But I said, ‘I am ruined, ruined! Woe to me! The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously, indeed, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously” (Isaiah 24:16).
Although the people rejoiced, wickedness still existed and that meant God would pour out His judgment again, because many people had not repented, but continued in evil things.
When we see disaster, let us repent of our sins, and keep trusting in the Lord, even if the rest of humanity does not.
