The lamps of the wicked

Proverbs 21:4 in the New King James Version says,

“A haughty look, a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked are sin” (Proverbs 21:4).

However, I notice that other translations refer to the lamp of the wicked rather than the plowing of the wicked. Either way, I still have trouble understanding the proverb, until I read it in the version known as, “God’s Word” (You can read about it here:, which says,

“A conceited look and an arrogant attitude, which are the lamps of wicked people, are sins.”

That is how wicked people see things, that is, with a conceited look and an arrogant attitude, and this not just a personality quirk, but the Holy Spirit says that those things are sins.
