We get wrapped up in our lives, thinking of what we want and do not want, what we like and do not like, but as disciples of the Christ, we should see our lives as He saw His, and as His apostles saw theirs, for Paul said,
“Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation” (2 Corinthians 1:6).
Notice how Paul said that whether his and his fellow-preachers suffered affliction, or had comfort, either way it was for the consolation and salvation of the Corinthians!
Look at your life as being about those around you, and not about yourself.
