Do we think according to the flesh?

Paul told the Christians at Corinth that they were still carnal, that is, still thinking according to the flesh and not according to the spirit, “For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?” (1 Corinthians 3:3).

He explained further, “For when one says, ‘I am of Paul,’ and another, ‘I am of Apollos,’ are you not carnal?” (1 Corinthians 3:3-4).

When we follow our favorite preachers, we create envy, strife, and division, which are all contrary to the Spirit of Christ, who is the only One after whom we should name ourselves.

What is wrong with simply being known as a “Christian”?
