Leonard Pitts, the syndicated columnist, argued in one of his columns that men are greater in sleaze than are women, but I wrote to him to show him that women can be just as bad, and so both sexes are in need of the mercy of God.
Asaph pleaded with God, “Oh, do not remember former iniquities against us! Let Your tender mercies come speedily to meet us, for we have been brought very low” (Psalms 79:8).
Is that plea only for men, or do women need it also? The Bible would argue that both Jew and Gentile need to make that plea; the Bible does not say Jewish men and Gentile men need to make it, but all of us.
