Paul and his friends rushed for Jerusalem. “And when we had finished our voyage from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, greeted the brethren, and stayed with them one day” (Acts 21:7).

Could you hear Luke’s haste in his writing? Paul wanted to be in Jerusalem for the Day of Pentecost and that day approached quickly. He wanted to be there for evangelistic opportunities. He wanted to save those who were his brethren according to the flesh. He lived for saving others.

Why do you live?
