Some Were Persuaded

In Thessalonica, not all the Jews believed what Paul and Silas preached, but Luke also let us know, “And some of them were persuaded; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks, and not a few of the leading women, joined Paul and Silas” (Acts 17:4).

Later the unbelieving Jews drove the preaching team out of Thessalonica, but they converted enough people that the church received a start in the town. The members of the church would receive persecution, but they would endure also.

Praise God for preaching teams like Paul and Silas, for they helped to establish the church in the world and we can enjoy the benefits of church membership partly through their efforts.
